Dr Chandan Jadhav is a Specialist Plastic Surgeon who has been in clinical practice since 2010. He has a broad expertise in most areas of Plastic Reconstructive & Aesthetic Surgery. He holds dual Specialist qualifications as a Fellow of Royal Australasian College of Surgeons (FRACS) and a Board-Certified Plastic Surgeon by National Medical Council, India. He is a member of Australian Society of Plastic Surgeons (ASPS), Indian Society of Reconstructive Microsurgeons (ISRM) and Faculty at Canadian Board of Aesthetic Medicine (CBAM).
Chandan is known for his approach to each procedure with meticulous precision and a calm demeanour that reassures both patients and colleagues alike. His deep knowledge and surgical techniques are matched only by his commitment to excellence and patient care. Outside of hospital he is a devoted family man and has keen interest in racket sports.
CAREER HIGHLIGHTS
Chandan is working as a Senior Medical Officer in Department of Plastic Surgery at the Sunshine Coast University Hospital (SCUH) since 2020. His unwavering commitment to excellence has contributed immensely to the growth and development of the department. He has been instrumental in pioneering Lymphedema Microsurgical services at SCUH – first & only of its kind for Queensland.
His areas of expertise include Head & Neck, Breast Cancer Reconstructions; Skin cancer surgery, Trauma & Limb reconstructions, Aesthetic Face, Breast & Body surgeries. Beyond operating theatre Chandan takes pride in shaping the next generation of Plastic Surgeons by facilitating trainee workshops and courses endorsed by RACS & ASPS. He also is a Senior Lecturer at Griffith University where he is committed in teaching medical students on plastic surgery rotations.
Chandan is the member of Editorial Board for Burns & Trauma. He has chaired scientific sessions internationally. He also has been invited as an esteemed speaker at American Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons (Canada), Plastic Surgery Congress (Brisbane, Gold Coast), Australian Society of Hand Surgeons (Perth).
Chandan was awarded the Guest of Honour by Mayor of Brisbane at the Brisbane City Council ceremony in 2019. He has been the recipient of several National Scholarships and secured 2 nd Rank for his University during his post-graduation.
Chandan has been a part of Smile train outreach charity missions as a volunteer surgeon, for treating kids with cleft lip & cleft palate.
QUALIFICATIONS & FELLOWSHIPS
Chandan after graduating from medical school, went on to complete his Masters in Surgery training, followed by Plastic Surgery Fellowship training from renowned Institute of National Importance – Post Graduate Institute of Medical Education & Research (PGIMER), India.
Chandan moved to Perth in 2014 with his young family to obtain subspeciality Fellowship training in Breast & Reconstructive Microsurgery at Royal Perth Hospital, Fellowship in Hand & Wrist Surgery at Fiona Stanley & Fremantle Hospitals. He then moved to Brisbane in 2018 to do Cleft, Craniofacial & Pediatric Plastic Surgery Fellowship at Queensland Childrens Hospital; Head & Neck Cancer Reconstruction Fellowship at Royal Brisbane & Women`s Hospital.
Chandan completed DAFPRAS Fellowship in Aesthetic Surgery in Switzerland, where he learnt the nuances in Aesthetic Plastic Surgery from the masters. Throughout his career, Chandan has published 11 first author research papers and presented his work both domestically and internationally. He has also completed two major research projects as a part of his dissertation.
